Good morning TeamLCPS,As you all know, the athletics world has been on pause for quite some time, and the Virginia High School League has now provided guidelines that allow for activities and sports to begin conditioning in moderation. These sessions are for individual skill development, where social distancing must be maintained at all times. Our coaches have been trained on how to properly cleanse equipment and facilities, as well as how to monitor each student-athlete attending these sessions. The health and safety of our kids is our top priority.
Please note that each summer conditioning opportunity is 1,000% voluntary. I say again, our conditioning sessions are voluntary. In order to participate in conditioning sessions, you must have a valid VHSL physical on file in the athletics office. A number of parents have scanned and emailed their physicals to us, and that is perfectly fine. You can also take your physical to your coaches, but without one, you will not be able to participate.I also want everyone to know that the LC Athletics plan is in line with the CDC, VHSL, and state guidelines. Please contact your coaches to find out specific information about what team is conditioning and when. They will also provide you with information on our prescreening methods before each session. Lastly, there is a waiver form for both students and coaches that must be signed before activities are permitted for your student-athletes. The coaches have copies of those forms for you.
