I hope that everyone is having a great holiday weekend. It was wonderful seeing everyone in The JUNGLE this past Friday, and the atmosphere was electric. I appreciate everyone's support of our team and coaches and hope that everyone enjoyed spending time together under Friday Night Lights!! It was a huge victory over Courtland and we are thankful that the event was a success.
The purpose of this email is to inform everyone that our jv and varsity football games vs Massaponax set for Tuesday and Friday of this week, respectively, have been canceled. I want to make it clear to everyone that the cancellation is due to COVID-19 issues at Massaponax. The Massaponax Athletics Department contacted me today, confirming that they would not be able to participate in either the jv or varsity football games this week. Transparency is key, which is why it was so important to let everyone know about this situation immediately. Please know that there are other school divisions dealing with COVID-19 issues, and in some close localities, there are teams who have yet to play a football game this season.
As we have expressed in previous communications, our plans are fluid and things can change at a moment's notice. I encourage everyone to continue to practice healthy habits both inside and outside of our buildings. I will keep everyone informed as we move forward and I appreciate everyone for their patience during these times. We will continue to lead the way and do all that we can to give our kids and community members an opportunity to participate in activities/athletics.
We are back in action on Friday, September 17, 2021, vs Fluvanna in The JUNGLE, and we look forward to seeing everyone there - LOUD, PROUD, and full of PR1DE!!
