09/28 LC Athletics Update!!

Good Morning #TeamLCPS and the Mighty Lion Nation!!,

Please read this message in its entirety, as we have important updates regarding LC Athletics:

There is much uncertainty with Friday evening's weather forecast due to Hurricane Ian.  

  • Due to this uncertainty, our Varsity Football Lions will now host Monticello HS on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 7:30 pm in The JUNGLE!!
    • Tomorrow's game will remain First Responder's Night, and we look forward to recognizing these brave men & women in our community, who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.
    • All First Responders will get into the game at no cost, so long as you show up in uniform or have your WORK ID with you at the main gate!!
    • We will also host a pregame cookout under the tent in the stadium for our First Responders at 6:15 pm, and recognize them coming out of the tunnel and onto the field at 7:05 pm for The Lion Nation to show their appreciation!!
    • Our community tailgate in front of LCMS will start at 5:45 pm and the gates will open at 6 pm sharp.
    • Presale tickets will be available during lunch shifts in the LCHS CAF at LCHS on 09/29.

The remainder of this week's events are as follows, and if there are any changes, you will be the first to know:

  • Wednesday, 09/28
    • JV Football will travel to Monticello HS with a 6:30 pm kickoff
  • Thursday, 09/29
    • LCMS Girls Basketball will host Locust Grove at 4:30 pm
    • LCMS Volleyball will play at Goochland MS at 4:30 pm
    • LCMS Football @ Caroline is postponed - makeup date TBD
    • JV/Varsity Field Hockey at Albemarle at 5:30/7 pm
    • JV/Varsity Volleyball at Albemarle at 5:30/6:30 pm
    • Varsity Football HOME vs Monticello at 7:30 pm
  • Friday, 09/30
    • Cross Country at Woodberry Forest at 4:30 pm
  • Saturday, 10/01
    • LCMS & 9th Grade Cross Country at Fork Union at 9 am
    • Competition Cheer Invitational at Harrisonburg HS at 1 pm
