LC Athletics - Upcoming Region & State Events!!

Good Evening #TeamLCPS,

I am more than thankful for each of you and the support you give our student-athletes and coaches day in and day out!!  We are nearing the end of the winter season and we have teams competing through this weekend and I want to make sure that everyone is on the same page - to share in the EXCITEMENT!!

• We have State Dive (Thursday at St. Catherine's School) and State Swim at SwimRVA (Friday)!!

  • Dive was today at 5:30pm!!
    
  • Swim meet begins at 9:05am on Friday!!

  Let's be sure to support Coach Bickley & Coach Hartman, as well as our Swimmers & Diver, as they look to bring home some hardware!!

• State Wrestling at the VA Beach Sportsplex is this Friday and Saturday - both starting at 10am.  We have 7 wrestlers in the hunt for state titles and let's wish them all good luck along with Coach Stewart and his staff!!

• Region Girls Basketball IN THE DEN!!
  • Friday at 7pm, the Lady Lions (Back to Back Regular Season Jefferson District Champions) will host GW Danville in the quarterfinal round of the Region 4-D Basketball Tournament!!  Good luck to Coach Schreck and his staff and our Mighty Lady Lions!!
    • $7.00 admission and with this being a region game, only VHSL, VIAAA, NIAAA, etc. will be accepted at the door.

• Speech & Debate SHENVAFL Championship this Saturday at JMU at 9:30am!!  Good luck to Coach Love, her assistants and team members!!

• Region 4-D Indoor Track Championship at Roanoke College at 4pm!! Good Luck to Coach Cutright and his staff, and our kids as well!!

Do not forget that LCHS JV/Varsity Spring Sports Tryouts will begin next week:

• Baseball & Softball tryouts will begin on Monday, February 21st at 3:30pm.
• Outdoor Track, Tennis, and Soccer will begin on Tuesday, February 22nd directly after school.
  • You must have a VHSL Physical on file at LCHS.
  • You must be academically eligible to tryout.
  • You must have a signed Covid Waiver/Code of Conduct form.
